The Charity works in close consultation with a number of other bodies and Educational Partners, including The National Trust for Scotland, the Robert Gordon University, Banff & Buchan College, Scottish Agricultural College, and Historic Scotland. To this end, key representatives of those institutions are also members of the Board of Directors.

Alan Moat was formerly Chief Executive of Grampian Housing Association and a member of the Board of The Aberdeen Foyer.
Alan is committed to developing and supporting local enterprise programmes, and equal opportunities for all, including education, training, social, and housing programmes.

Dr Maitland Mackie, an Agri-businessman, is Chairman of Mackies of Scotland, a reputable family farming and ice cream business.
Maitland has previously served on the Boards of Grampian Enterprise, The Scottish Agricultural College, and The Rowett Institute. Maitland is a keen conservationist and plays an active role in developing and promoting new business products and ideas and is a key member of the Centre’s Business Sub Group.
David Paton is a Chartered Surveyor by profession and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
An accomplished Businessman, David is committed to supporting Community Enterprise projects and has served prominently on the Boards of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, The Foyer, Aberdeen Harbour, the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust, and Aberdeen Civic Society. David Paton owns Grandhome Estate, which has been in the Paton family since 1673.
Annie Kenyon is a chartered architect and an active member of RIAS, RIBA and ARB. Annie trained at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture, at The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Annie combined her studies working for Herby-Percy & Parker Architects, London, assisting on a range of diverse projects including the conversion of a medieval coach house.
After completing a BSc (Hons) in Architecture, Annie began her professional career working for Simpson & Brown Architects in Edinburgh. Annie was then engaged as a research assistant for RGU researching the concept of 'Healthy Architecture', before going on to obtain an MArch in Advanced Architectural Studies. During this time, Annie set up her practice AKA in Insch, Aberdeenshire, and was recognised for her signifiant achievements by being presented with the 'Future Star Award in Architecture' by Atkins Inspire, awarded to women aged 21-30 working in the built environment. Annie has also been recognised as one of the 25 most outstanding graduates of the past 50 years of the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture
Annie continues to grow her architectural practice, with an ethos of redfining the historic environment and sustainability being the driving principles.
Robert Stewart, is the former Director of Environmental Services at Moray Council 1999 - 2011 and has been a a Non-Executive Director of Historic Scotland since 2010. During his successful career Robert has been responsible for the management and operation of a multi-discipline, technical department of some 1500 staff delivering front-line services including: Planning, Conservation, Building Standards, Environmental Health, Property and Roads.
Robert is a fellow of the Royal Town Planning Institute and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management.
John Barr served as a member of the Board of the National Trust for Scotland until September 2009.
John was appointed to serve on the Board in October 2008 and plays an important liaison role in sharing mutual understanding between the Centre and the NTS

David McClean was appointed to serve on the Board in March 2010. David is Head of School, Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment, at The Robert Gordon University. David is committed to interdisciplinary working and as such he Chairs the Centre’s Education Sub-Committee. Prior to entering Higher Education 17 years ago, David worked for several years in architectural practice in Cambridge.
David actively contributes to the work of RIBA and is a Director of the Aberdeen City Heritage Trust.
A Fine Art graduate from Sheffield Hallam University, James Crombie is both a Designer and Project Manager on complex restoration projects including the very successful Portsoy Salmon Bothy. James is also chief instructor/mentor of the Portsoy Faering Project, a youth project aimed at 11-16 year olds, teaching boat building skills not only as a practical activity, but with a holistic approach deisgned to facilitate learning about co-operation, tolerance, maths, financial control, and engaging with the public.
James is passionate about energy efficiency and is committed to sustainable building design in both modern and traditional structures.

Marc Ellington is the Centre’s Executive Director. Marc is passionately committed to developing the STSTC as a Centre of Excellence of national and international repute, which will provide an effective response to the growing crisis we are facing in the absence of the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the present and future requirements of our Built and Landscape Heritage.
A former Board member of the Government’s Historic Buildings Council, Grampian Enterprise, the British Heritage Committee and the Heritage Lottery Fund for Scotland, Marc is currently a Non-Executive Director of Historic Scotland, a Board member of Banff and Buchan College and a Trustee of The National Galleries of Scotland.
Marc’s contribution to the conservation and protection of our historic environment has been acknowledged by his receipt of The Civic Trust, Saltire and European Heritage Awards.
Pauline manages the administration of the Centre and its activities and works closely with Marc to deliver the Centre's training and skills courses. Former Communications Manager at Donald Russell and Marketing Manager at Catalogue Services; Pauline has a BA (Hons) in Marketing and Communications and a background in Primary Education. Pauline is passionate about engaging young people in our Built and Landscape Heritage.
