Eden Project Founder to Lecture in Aberdeen

Tim Smit CBE, the force behind the world acclaimed Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall is to lecture at RGU in June.

Tim who began his career as a producer and went on to win 7 platinum and gold discs, found and restored the Lost Gardens of Heligan before his fascination with the stories that connected plants to people led him to develop the Eden Project along with Philip McMillan Browes, (former Director of RHS Wisley and Horticultural Director of The Lost Gardens of Heligan) and Peter Thoday (former President of the Institute of Horticulture.

MP Rory Stewart to speak on Afghanistan

Newly elected MP Rory Stewart OBE is to speak at Aberdeen University.

Stewart, who served briefly as an officer in the British Army (the Black Watch), and was educated at Balliol College, Oxford joined the British Diplomatic Service, and has served in the British Embassy in Indonesia and, in the wake of the Kosovo campaign, as the British Representative in Montenegro.
