Training for Tour Guides

The Scottish Traditional Skills Training Centre is finalising plans for the delivery of a 2-day Course for Guides, Tour Leaders and others involved in welcoming, informing and engaging visitors to Historic Buildings, Sites and Monuments – as well as other Visitor Attractions. The Course will also benefit representatives of Organisations, Local Authorities and Companies, whose principle operations lie outwith the Tourist Industry, but provide visitor services.

This Course, which is being held at historic Duff House, Banff, will include presentations by a wide range of leading authorities from the UK and beyond, with a high degree of relevant knowledge, skills and experience - as well as the other requirements necessary in order to provide a successful Visitor Experience.

The Course, which will involve a high degree of Delegate participation, will also include Case Studies; Question and Answer Sessions; as well as the use of Duff House and its outstanding collection of contents as a highly useful 'tool' to support delivery of the Education and Training provided.

Our provisional dates for delivering the Course are the 5th and 6th of April - which we hope to be able to confirm in the next few days.
